On February 20, 2026, the Waterford Township Board approved public distribution of the Waterford Township Limestone Quarry Draft Environmental Impact Statement (EIS).
The 60-day Draft EIS Comment Period begins March 10, 2026 and extends through 4:30 pm on May 11, 2026. The public is invited to submit “substantive” comments to the Township during the comment period. The MN Environmental Quality Board provides guidance on “Accepted comments” – search “A Citizen’s Guide: Commenting on Environmental Review Projects” on their website at https://www.eqb.state.mn.us/ Reminder: Comments stating support or lack of support for a project are not substantive and will not receive a response as a part of the Final EIS preparations.
The Draft EIS will be available at both the Northfield and Dakota County-Farmington Libraries, and also on the Waterford Township website – www.waterfordtownshipmn.gov

A Draft EIS Information Meeting will be held on April 7, 2026 from 5-7 PM at the Robert Boeckman Middle School – Little Theater, 800 Denmark Ave, Farmington, MN 55024 with an approx. 15 minute presentation followed by the Project Proposer’s team offering information stations on the various Draft EIS topics, where attendees may ask questions.
